The City of Fayetteville and Cumberland County are temporarily pausing accepting new applications for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program until additional funding becomes available.

In 2021, the U.S. Department of Treasury awarded the City of Fayetteville and Cumberland County funding to implement a joint Emergency Rental Assistance Program (RAP). Within six months of launching the RAP, $13.6 million in federal funding has been awarded to stabilize more than 2,500 households in our community with rent and/or utility bills.

Cumberland County anticipates state funding may be available in the future to continue the program.
